Oy vey. We’re not Yiddish, but we thank them for the expression that pretty much sums up how we’re feeling about 2021. We pride ourselves on being great at what we do – delivering your goods to where they need to go on time, every time. With various road closures across BC for many of the last six months, and now the loss of the Coquihalla, that’s been difficult, to say the least. Of course, we were only one of many businesses challenged by events this year, and we feel your exasperation too.

With our roots in the agricultural industry, we are also deeply saddened by the devastation in the farming community resulting from the recent floods. Our hearts go out to all those impacted.

There’s another Yiddish saying though: If you can’t go over, go under. In our case, that means taking the southern route, but the message is one of resilience. As humans, we need to acknowledge and process our feelings. Then, we need to find ways to continue moving forward.

Inspiration and hope for the future can come in unexpected ways: a card from an old friend; a helping hand that arrives just when you need it; a compliment from a stranger. Sometimes it’s the little things that tell us that everything will be alright. Showing such small kindnesses to others also lifts us up. There are good people in this world, and they’re doing good things to brighten the days ahead.

So, during this holiday season we wish you the gift of hope; the inspiration to make new plans for the future; and, the fulfilment that comes from giving to others.
